What a witchy weekend! I FINALLY found a reason to wear my witchy wig! PUMPKIN PICKING! I did get some weird looks and one lady working the kettle corn booth thought I was in costume. But hey, not everyone understands the October festiveness. I bought this wig from WigIsFashion.com. Its a synthetic lace front wig and I love it! I love my natural hair color but I also love bright and fun colors too. So to save my natural tresses, I wanted to invest in some nice wigs (my black one too) for special occasions! Some wig advice though, I really don’t like how the hairline looks on both my wigs but a quick fix is to wear a hat, beanie, or even a simple chain head piece to cover the weird hairline.
Also, shout-out to The Serpents Club for designing such beautiful jewelry! Emily is an amazing jeweler that creates stunning crystal necklaces, rings, and earrings. Her shop is out of Manchester, England; so if you live internationally to her, shipping will be a bit longer but it is totally worth the wait!! I do plan on purchasing another Leda necklace in Rose Quartz. Please check out her instagram @theserpentsclub
Guess what month it is! Oh yeah! OCTOBER! Good lord have I waited so long for this month! My favorite season, my favorite holiday, and Ryan and I’s anniversary day.
So I have made a commitment this month to wear absolutely nothing but BLACK! Yes you heard me! All black all month! I had to invest in a few more (thrifted) black pieces to complete my wardrobe. I have a perfect mix of light fabrics, heavy warm fabrics, skirts, and pants. Along with some old clothes I had, I’ll be able to mix and match all month long! I plan to show you as many of my minimalist goth wardrobe as I can.
This retro sheer dress (vintage is meant to be used for wine) was only a whopping $3.00 at my local thrift store! It was in the “vintage boutique” section and it had no under slip, so I’m assuming thats why it was so cheap. My grandmother would be proud, my first purchase of a dress slip. (my grandmother ALWAYS wore slips in her younger and now-a-days, but it’s not a very common thing to wear now though) I mean I could sport this dress with a body suit of sorts, but I’m going to keep it classy and modest.

With change of seasons comes change of fashion. This transition extends to formal social events as well, like weddings. But that doesn’t mean that you have to wear leg warmers and a sweater with your cocktail dress. The switch from summer to fall wedding isn’t necessarily about skirt length or footwear, it’s more delicate than that. It’s about rich fabrics and bolder colors, like jewel tones, which are an unwavering representation of glamorous fall color palette.
If you need a fall wedding inspo, or just a few tips for what to look for in a fall wedding outfits, read on!
A bell sleeve is this year’s trend that is growing pretty strong. These 70’s inspired belled cuffs have made their way onto our sleeves, and dresses are not exception. Ruffled tops have been such a huge trend this season, and this obsession with rumpled silhouettes is not going anywhere. A subtle bell sleeve on a fitted, knee length dress is a perfect combination of modern and seasonal trend. And if your color of choice is deep red, then no accessory is needed there.
Technically, dresses are the most represented clothing item on any wedding outfit list you’ll find. And for the most part, it’s because they are so versatile, especially for this season. A classic dress for the fall would of course be a maxi dress. But they differ a little from their summery version. Instead of flowery, boho maxi dresses you would wear in summer, opt for elegant formal maxi dresses. They are perfect to be accessorized with statement jewelry that works the best on dresses with simple necklines.
So, if one choice is a maxi length dress without sleeves, the opposite of that would be a short dress with sleeves? That is exactly right. This is a pretty good option if the weather conditions are still favorable. A dress is a pretty good choice if you plan to dress to impress , but a long-sleeved romper is a second-best choice to go with. Pair it with a stylish belt to accentuate your waist, and statement pumps.
If you don’t want to show your legs, a jumpsuit is a serious candidate for this season’s must have outfit. It fits almost every figure perfectly, and if you want a switch from wearing your wedding essential LBD, a black jumpsuit is a worthy replacement. A wide leg jumpsuit is especially popular this season, and if you are bold and daring enough, you can go for a deep off shoulder jumpsuit with short sleeves. Feel free to accessorize it with designer jewelry or a classic clutch.
Scarves are a great addition to fall clothing, and they can work very nicely with dressy clothes. If you want to make them a part of your outfit, go with sleek scarves, maybe with a hint of lace if your dress is monochromatic; and if you’re really looking for something highly functional to keep you warm, opt for woven collars, or wrap-up sweaters.
Streamline cut embellished pants can look classy and glamorous as much as a cocktail dress. There is no reason why you shouldn’t try something new and get yourself a pair of elegant, office pants embellished with crystals or beads. A good thing is that with embellished pants, you’ll be already accessorized, so don’t go over the top with accessories. Wear them with high heel boots; your legs will appear widely elongated, and for a top, you can go with a nice light-colored blouse or a statement sweater.
